Top Ten First Date Ideas
The first date can often be the most nerve wracking of experiences. It is important, though, to keep your cool so you leave a good first impression. Choosing the perfect first date will go a long way in accomplishing that.
Be unique and adventurous and your date will surely be intrigued:
1. Lunch – If you are not sure about whether or not there is chemistry, try a lunch date first. This takes some of the pressure off and allows you to leave them wanting more. You can always set up a longer date for the second meeting.
2. Picnic – This can be relaxed and enjoyable and also something you can do on a budget. Pack a nice basket with snacks, sandwiches and wine and set off to a lovely park. You can enjoy the outdoors and have a lovely conversation.
3. Class – Take a class together. This allows you both something to do with your hands and takes up some time while giving you something to talk about later. A pottery, wine tasting or cooking class is perfect for a first date.
4. Beach – A day at the beach can be a lot of fun playing in the sand and surf. You also get to cut to the chase a bit and see what the other person looks like in fewer clothing.
5. Comedy club – While it is advisable not to sit too near the front, a comedy club can provide an evening of entertainment and enjoyment. You do not want to be heckled though for being on a first date so try not to be too tempting to the comedian.
6. Skating – You can go for a rink or the park, ice or roller skating. In the winter going to an ice skating rink can be very romantic especially if it is outdoors and you may get a chance to warm each other up. Rollerblading at the park can also be a fun adventure.
7. Zoo – Who doesn’t like going to the zoo? There is so much to see and do while there. It is usually very affordable and has nice scenery. Plus you get to have uninterrupted conversation and plenty of amusements.
8. Wine tasting – This is ideal for those who appreciate wines. If you have this in common, a wine tasting will be a lovely surprise and a great way to share a common interest.
9. Museum – If you both enjoy art in whatever form, a museum is a great place to go. It is usually inexpensive and you will have plenty of opportunity for discussion as well as quiet time. If you can’t think of what to say, look at the painting as if you are absorbed in it while you figure something out.
10. Dinner and a movie – Yes, it is an old standby and not very original but it is a classic because it works. You have the opportunity for conversation, entertainment and intimacy. To spice it up how about making dinner or going to a drive in movie?
