Love Letters to Read: Rekindling an Old Flame

They say you don’t know what you have until it’s gone and when it’s gone . . . it can feel like too little too late. You mope around with nothing but old love letters to read while curled up in his sweater.. If you’ve been hiding beneath the covers reminiscing of days gone by, get out of that bed and read on to find out how you can rekindle that old flame – but first, for God’s sakes, take a shower.

Don’t Hit the Ground Running
Call up your ex and simply say, “I miss hanging out with you. Let’s get together for lunch.” Not coming across as needy or vulnerable will make the atmosphere much less thick and keep nerves at bay.

Reminisce About the Past
“Remember that time we went ice-skating and I totally busted my butt?” Lines like these can get you laughing and remind you both of all the good times you used to have.

Write it Down
After you become reacquainted for a few weeks or whenever the time feels right, write down your feelings. Give him new love letters to read and don’t be vague. Describe things you miss about him that are specific to his personality or bring up an inside joke such as, “I miss the way you smile when you are up to something, the way you look in your old football jersey and I even miss watching Sports Center with you at 1 am.”

Try a few of our tips for winning back your sweetie and chances are those old crumpled up papers will be replaced with new love letters to read in his t-shirt very soon.
