Romantic getaways are supposed to be fun and relaxing, right? Then why do you suddenly look down at those little tear stained faces and feel panicky, wondering if this getaway was such a good idea after all. If you have little ones, leaving them behind for extended periods of time can be tough but, not to worry. We have composed a little guide to help ease your mind and assure that your little ones are safe, sound and happy back at home.

Make a List

Make a list of bedtime routines, medicine routines and names along with all of your contact/vital information with your caregiver. This will help ease your mind and assure that the little ones are well cared for.

Give them Gifts

Go to the toy store and pick up a toy for each day you will be away. Wrap them up and have the caregiver give the child one each day.

Write Letters

Write a little letter for the children so if they miss you, they can read them to ease their minds.

Give Them a Special Job

Allow the kids to do something they normally wouldn't get to do. For instance if they were staying with an aunt who had dogs, their job could be to feed and brush the dogs each day.

Call Them Each Night

Call the kids each night and remind them that you will be home soon. Little ones don't always have a good perception of time.
