Happy Being Single - How True Is It, Really?
Although every society views single individuals as unacceptable, more and more people are continuing to live without a partner, confirming the ‘happy being single’ theory. Gone are the days when marriage was hailed as the only way to make life meaningful. Today, singles consider the notion of marriage as a simply ridiculous one.
Would you believe that even single women feel that choosing to remain single was one of the best decisions of their life? In fact, this new breed of single women who lead rich and fulfilling lives have some great advice for all others – to have a good relationship, one must first learn to be happy being single.
Being Single Has Its Advantages
Since society norms dictate an independent life when mature, then a career and finally a marriage, there have been many cases of singles ending up feeling lost, lonely and depressed. However, many people have been pleasantly surprised to find themselves happy being single. For instance, single people do not have to put off changing a job or a home as they have no other opinions to consider.
This does not, however, mean that marriage is a barrier to living life to the fullest. Plenty of marriages suffer from over-dominant partners, boring routines, frequent arguments or other stressing issues. Happy being single is often a welcome turning point in such relationships.
