So those of us who celebrate this beloved holiday really put a lot of thought into what we give as gifts to the people we love. There are plenty of unique Christmas gift ideas that you can use to ensure you’re not just giving the same old, same old gift that everyone else at the mall is.

One idea is to have gifts that are delivered throughout the coming year. Many services exist that will deliver a special treat each month for 12 months; such as wine of the month, flower of the month, and fruit of the month clubs. Your loved one will enjoy your gift and remember you every time they receive a shipment.

Is your sweetheart a basketball fan? How about the ballet? Season tickets to their favorite live events make an excellent gift. The two of your can plan regular dates around these special event days or you can just let them go with their friends while you stay home with the knowledge that he or she is having the time of their life with your unique Christmas gifts.

If your spouse has everything they could ever want, why not make a donation in their name to their favorite cause or charity? Many couples have organizations they support and causes that are important to them and have based their relationship on shared ideals. This is a great way to honor another person and feel great about making a positive change in the world.

Finally, if you and your lover enjoy travel, consider planning a trip and presenting them with air or cruise tickets for Christmas. If that’s a bit out of your budget, you may plan a weekend getaway. And if travel is totally out of the question but you still both have the itch, buy a book or documentary film about one of the places you’d both love to visit. You may even buy a piece of art, jewelry or other handcrafted item from a favorite destination that you have been, or would like to visit soon.

Don’t get stuck in the same rut as everyone else, buying MP3 players and bath robes this year. Think outside the box and plan for unique Christmas gifts that will take your loved one by surprise, and will not soon be forgotten.
