Love is almost in the air every where you go, the long days and warm nights, drinks and get-togethers and the holidays! The beach, sand, sun and women and men clad, well, scantily can all intoxicate you with a feeling of love, desires, dreams and hopes of finding that perfect partner.
The time you meet somebody on a summer holiday is probably the most memorable part of your entire trip! The urgency to find out more about each other due to your short stay adds to the all the fun and excitement. The summer fling does you good too, not only does it boost your confidence and makes you feel good about yourself; you just might find your life partner if it is real reciprocated love! Imagine what lovely stories of your first meetings you will have to share all life long.
Summer holidays are when one has low inhibitions and those passionate moments on the beach can be fun. As long as it is fun and you are both consenting adults, sexual adventures should be fun. However, if there is trouble make sure you draw your line and move on. Often coupled with drinking, sex may seem like the right option; make sure you are not drunk, this lowers your inhibitions further and also consider if you will feel guilty when he is not there in the morning! Think about how far you would like to take the fling rather than repenting it later. Make a decision you are comfortable with and always remember it is not like a regular relationship but a rushed one.
A major pitfall however is when one of you would like to continue the relationship further but the other wants it to end with the holiday. If the other person is keen on continuing the relationship but you are not, make your intentions clear leaving no doubts as to your future together. If it is just a summer fling, make it known so and avoid swapping contact details at the end of your trip. Giving him your personal details like a phone number or a business card will only further confuse him as to the status of the relationship. Be tactful when breaking up yet firm.
Likewise if you have fallen for your holiday mate but there is no reciprocation of sentiments, remember that holiday romances are meant for just the holiday. Both of you will get back to the stresses and monotony of daily life, just because the other person does not want to continue it doesn’t mean he didn’t feel for you. Think of all the fun and closeness you shared all these days and do not feel betrayed. Simply enjoy it for what it was.
