Keeping the Romance Alive

We all know that keeping the romance in your relationship healthy is hard work these days, right?  This article will show you a light at the end of the tunnel.

You’ve been married awhile. You have kids screaming at you. Your phone is ringing and a telemarketer is on the other end. Your boss is frustrating you. You got cut off in the parking lot while grocery shopping. With all these daily pressures, it is no wonder you don’t feel particularly romantic at the end of the day. Maybe all you want to do is go to sleep and hope that the next day is better than this one. But even with all the pressures of the day and all your responsibilities, you still have a spouse who needs some attention and a marriage to work on.

You need a little romance in your life. Who doesn’t? But romance does not just happen. You have to work at it. So what about all those bad things that happened during the day that you want to forget about? If you had some romantic time you’d probably forget they ever even happened and feel much better about yourself, your life and your marriage in general. Your spouse probably didn’t have a peachy day either so why not treat yourselves to some romantic alone time and enjoy each other. Keeping the romance alive in a marriage is a key factor in keeping the marriage alive.

After a long day, wouldn’t it be great to relax with your sweetie in a hot bubble bath with a glass of wine? Make it happen. Throw a DVD in the television for the kids, order some pizza and tell them not to bother you. Then lock the door and you have your own private oasis to relax, talk, laugh and do whatever else may come to mind at the time. Don’t talk about the kids or work or pressures. Talk instead about how sexy your spouse is. Talk about good times. Talk about your future together.

There are many ways to keep the romance alive in a marriage. However it does take some creativity, time and effort. You should make that time. Not only will it keep the romance alive in your marriage but it will make both of you feel a lot better about the daily grind. Having regular date nights or taking time to find alone time every day, even for a few minutes can really be a stress reliever. You will find when you are having a difficult day that your mind will wander to the one you love and you will anticipate your time together. What a wonderful way to think of your spouse whether you’ve been married twenty weeks or twenty years.
