You’ll have to do something grand if you forget your anniversary. But assuming you have the date set on every calendar you pass and have reminders on your phone and computer, you will then need to think about what to get her and what to do.
Buying the perfect gift for you wife may seem like a daunting task regardless of how well you know her and her taste. You want it to be just perfect and sweep her off her feet. The first thing you need to do is start thinking about it early. Don’t wait until the last minute where you will be rushing around frantically. There are typically two parts to the anniversary ritual. You will need to go out or do something special together and you will have to get her something tangible as a gift. The first part is usually the easiest.
When you go out, think of things you enjoy together, especially if it is something you two don’t get to indulge in very often. Perhaps you will want to splurge on that trendy new restaurant you’ve been talking about trying but haven’t been able to justify the expense. This is as good a time as any. Get all dressed up and take your lady on a romantic date. Relax and enjoy one another while indulging in superior cuisine in a romantic atmosphere. She will love feeling pampered and luxurious in the surroundings.
For gifts, stay away from anything too practical. Now is not the time to buy her the new toaster she needs even if it does toast 4 pieces of bread, odd sized items, defrosts and looks like a piece of art in the kitchen. Instead get her something that will pamper her or something she would not normally get for herself. A shopping spree for a new outfit, a day at the spa, a class she’s been wanting to take, jewelry or even a mini vacation are ideal gifts she will be sure to appreciate. Consider the things she’s mentioned in passing or has had her eye on for awhile. Thos are the perfect gifts for her.
