After or during a divorce a number of issues could change your life completely. Other than having to deal with emotional and physical issues at hand, another major divorcee issue is the financial one. Legal issues can be very confusing for all of us.
It would be safe to say it is the hardest for women to be able to cope financially after a divorce especially if they had been stay at home moms. It is possible that men may be set back financially too after a divorce, what with alimony, child support and sometimes maxed out credit cards by an angry wife. There are attorneys who are specialized to take care of your finances and make sure you stay clear of debts and maintain good credit.
Even then women remain more in need of an attorney to help with money issues as men tend to earn more or they are financially more powerful. For most stay at home moms, it is difficult to begin earning without feeling guilty about child care and then as their first jobs, they do not exactly earn very well. Things can seem pretty unfair as women usually get children’s custody and their expenses are much higher. A woman’s living costs usually increases dramatically after a divorce and their lifestyle usually decreases by about 45 percent! Though the court’s order of alimony and child support may go in the women’s favor, men actually have a rise of about 15 percent in their lifestyle standards according to a survey.
No doubt then, women are increasingly seeking divorce advice and help given these eye-opening facts. Spouses at the short end of the financial stick are getting legal help to make sure their assets are well maintained and provide them with a decent living after the divorce is final. Though financial issues rest for the majority with women, they also have issues like loneliness and acceptance to deal with. It is a heartbreaking situation when your fairytale marriage ends and you suddenly find yourself alone, especially after a ten or twenty year old relationship.
It is important that you have enough emotional and financial support to be able to come out of the grieving situation and face the world anew. You must remember to live life to the fullest and consider every hurt as an opportunity to learn and grow; positive thinking will heal you faster than a hundred guides on issue resolving.
