If you can’t remember the last time you didn’t have to split a mountain dew at the movies, here are five things you can do with your sweetie that make for some pretty awesome yet dirt cheap dates...
Go Green the Romantic Way
Do something sweet for one another that doesn’t take much money, just a little time. Buy a few inexpensive flowers from your local nursery and plant them together. We like potted flowers as opposed to seeds because they offer instant pay off. Plant a small garden together at his house and yours to remind you that you are connected even when you are apart.
Go Hiking
Take a hike from the everyday by getting out and walking. Nature is the perfect place to bond and be removed from the outside world for once. Take along your camera to remember the moments and if you are alone? Find a cozy spot in the woods were you could make your own memories!
Go Treasure Hunting
While many couples won’t admit it, they are sucker for yard sales, antique and thrift stores. Going on these Saturday hunts can be like looking for unfound treasure. Try buying an inexpensive piece and refurbishing it together.
Go Doubles
Really short on cash? Team up with a friend and his gal. Split the cost in half. Some places even offer group discounts such as bowling alleys and theme parks.
Go Caring Together
Volunteer your time at a local children’s hospital or nursing home. If you have a dog, sign him up for some pooch therapy time with patients. Doing charitable things together will not only help others but will also bring you closer together and show you side of each other you never knew existed.
The key to dating in a recession world is to be creative. Give non-date events and acts a new perspective and you might just find they are a romantic getaway waiting to be explored. These five cheap date ideas are a great start!
